In the mid-1980s, a modest beachside shack began serving dal and rice in Gokarna, marking the inception of what would become a beloved hospitality brand. This small establishment paused operations when its founder ventured to Himachal Pradesh to open another Namaste Cafe. Upon his return to Gokarna, he discovered his family’s land had been sold to the Casino Group for the development of the Swaswara resort. With determination, he persuaded the Casino Group to sell back a portion of the land. This pivotal moment gave rise to the Namaste Cafe we know today, nestled at the edge of Om Beach. For nearly three decades, it has been a haven for a loyal clientele, becoming a cherished landmark. The success at Om Beach spurred the creation of Namaste Sanjeevini, a serene retreat by Kudle Beach, and other ventures like Namaste Samudra and Namaste Nirvana. The brand’s expansion continued with brand affiliate properties with distinct managements, such as Rudraksh Retreat near Gokarna Beach, Moksha Gokarna, and MAYA Gokarna, each offering unique experiences.
